This Privacy Policy describes how Salary Chaos LLC (“Salary Chaos,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application, our website at salarychaos.com, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”).
We built Salary Chaos to be a fantasy football app you can trust. We collect as little as we need to make the product work, we never sell your data, and we let you delete your account at any time.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Account info: email address, display name, and password (hashed). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email through those providers.
- Profile + gameplay info: team names, roster choices, league activity, and any content you post inside leagues you join.
- Support inquiries: messages you send to support@salarychaos.com or through our contact form.
Information collected automatically
- Device + app info: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and a randomly generated app install identifier.
- Usage info (internal test builds only): features used, screens viewed, taps, session length. We use this to fix bugs and decide what to build next.
- Crash + performance data (internal test builds only): if the app crashes, we receive a diagnostic report (no personal content from your screen). App Store builds of the app collect no analytics or diagnostics data.
- Push notification tokens: if you opt in to push notifications, we store the token issued by Apple Push Notification service so we can send you alerts.
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your precise location.
- We do not collect your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera unless you explicitly upload something.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers in the app at launch.
- We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. See Section 9.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Send you transactional emails (welcome, password reset, account changes).
- Send push notifications you opted in to (injury alerts, lineup locks, league activity).
- Investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal Bases (EU/UK Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process your information under one of these legal bases under GDPR:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you signed up for.
- Consent — for push notifications.
- Legitimate interests — to improve the Service, prevent fraud, and keep accounts secure.
- Legal obligation — to comply with applicable law.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us run the product, bound by contract to only process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
- Vercel — website + API hosting.
- Amazon Web Services (SES) — transactional email delivery.
- Apple — App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, and push notifications.
- Google — Sign in with Google authentication (only if you choose this option).
- Plausible — website analytics (no cookies, no cross-site tracking).
- Other players — your display name, team name, and league standings are visible to other members of leagues you join. Your email address is never shown to other players.
- For legal reasons — if required by subpoena, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- In a business transfer — if we are acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner subject to this Policy.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Everyone
- Delete your account: open the app → Settings → Delete Account, or visit salarychaos.com/account/delete. Deletion is permanent and removes all roster, league, and profile data within 30 days.
- Update your information: edit your profile in the app at any time.
- Manage push notifications: toggle in your iOS Settings or in the app under Notifications.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and share.
- Request a copy of your personal information.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — we do not sell or share, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

EU/UK residents (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest in our database, hashed passwords, and least-privilege access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
8. International Transfers
We are based in the United States. If you use Salary Chaos from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data protection laws than your country.
9. Children
Salary Chaos is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Service is rated 13+ on the App Store and intended for users 13 years of age or older. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@salarychaos.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
